My Blood Approves: A Review of the Series

Young Adult Fantasy Novel: My Blood Approves ReviewSo, I am going to review this whole series, not each book. I liked this series enough to read them, but not enough to dissect each one.

This is another young adult vampire series. The mythology behind this one is extremely similar to most. The biggest difference is that you share feelings with the vampire who changed you, and even the one who changed that vampire.

The main character is Alice. She meets and starts to fall in love with a vampire, Jack. This is all good and fine until she meets his maker, Paul, whose blood calls out to her. This is where the drama begins.

I WANT TO BUY MY BLOOD APPROVES

So, there are lots of little things I don’t love about this story, but the biggest was the love story. I actually wanted the Alice and Jack to have some huge fight so Alice could be with Peter. Jack is the youngest created vampire in his family, and apparently when you are changed you become very immature, and Jack has the maturity of a 17 year old. This annoys me through out the whole story.

Each book has it’s own story, and they each get more intense. The last book was my favorite. Although I was disappointed by the last of responsibility that the characters had for the things that went wrong.

First off I have read all four of the My Blood Approves series and nowhere in them is there a character named paul. If you were refferring to Peter then you will know peter is NOT Jacks maker. I’m not trying to bash you or what you say, but I believe and strongly suggest that you get your facts right about the books you are reading/posting about as it will be confusing to people reading your posts.

Hi Crystal,

Thank you for your comment. You are absolutely right. The books weren’t monumental enough for me obviously to get the facts right. I really didn’t enjoy them at all. But you have the information correct. How did you feel about the books? Did you enjoy them? they really didn’t do it for me

If you really didn’t enjoy the books then why did you review them on here? I enjoyed them alot, and it does not do the writter or the fans of the books justice for you to do a review when you didn’t even get the basic facts about the books correct.

It is a review site. Not a fan site. We give our honest opinions.

I totally agree with Amy and Bethia. A review site is not meant to just say positive things, a review site is meant to critique a book or series, to give an assessment of it. It is, obviously, a good idea to get the details right, but this series is really so hugely like all the other vampire romance books that it is a bit hard to keep it straight in your mind. As for me, I thought the first book was really poorly written and unoriginal and so didn’t read the others. The series’ popularity despite all the poor grammar and mistakes is worrying. It makes me think it’s pitched at the nearly illiterate because only someone who doesn’t notice the mistakes, because they themselves don’t know grammar, punctuation and spelling, could read these books without wanting to pull their hair out in frustration. But that’s just me.

Personally i hated the whole peter and alice thing and i loved jack but i didn’t like alice at all!! i wish that the author would have thrown in a happy ending for peter like maybe he could have fallen in love with someone else since alice has jack!! i suggest that people should read the book!! i really enjoyed most of it!!
