Hunted is the fourth book in the young adult fantasy series, House of Night, and I couldn’t put it down! It is by far the most entrancing, suspenseful, on the edge of my seat novel written by the PC Cast duo thus far. The nightmare caused by the release of an ancient fallen angel arm and arm with one of the most powerful vampyres, Neferet, put me in constant fear for the lives of Zoey and her group of both blue and red vamps. My stomach churned and my mind twisted through each episode of catastrophe that brought more threats of death and injury.
Zoey also makes some significant realizations about who she is and how she knows Kalona the fallen angel. She really comes into her own and I can see her becoming the vampyre high priestess that Nyx has blessed so well.
For those of you who weren’t sure about Aphrodite, you are forced to decide how you feel about her in this novel. I decided that I loved her! She is sharp and intelligent, able to use the talents she has to get what she wants and to protect herself.
Aphrodite also becomes one of Zoey’s biggest advocates and allies and is key in helping to arrange the plan the group devises to go up against the evil back at the House of Night. Will Zoey and her friends make it through a full blown war of vampyre versus vampyre? Will Neferet win? Will the fallen angel Kalona use his relationship with Zoey against her? The twisting journey doesn’t end at the end of the novel but instead leaves you ready and waiting for the next book… Tempted.
