A couple of months ago, I received a request from Vered Ehsani, the author of the new young adult fantasy series Ghost and Shadows. We tend to get quite a few requests, and although Bethia and I would love to read all of the books-we have been pressed to find the opportunity. However, this month I read Diary of a Part-Time Ghost. It was entertaining and great for young readers. It appeals to the part of me that likes historical fiction and blends that in with the fantasy pieces of the book.
I WANT TO BUY DIARY OF A PART-TIME GHOST
Ash, the main character, was just ambiguous enough that either a girl or boy reader could relate to him. There wasn’t a ton of character development, but just enough that you felt tied to him through out the novel. It’s perfect for younger readers. When the novel was over, it caught me off guard and definitely left me ready to continue reading the following books in the series.
A great first novel for the series and something any young reader will likely get into.
